"Color, rhythm and value; these are the driving forces behind my work.
I see lushness all around me, and I want to capture it, process it and
throw it back out onto the surface. I see colors so ripe that I can almost
taste them, and I want to convey that sensation to those who view my work.
Watercolor never ceases to amaze me. I have been painting for eleven
years and still feel as though I have just begun. I am always discovering
new ways to work with the medium and this keeps me challenged and focused."
Rene Lynch is a watercolor artist based on the North Shore of Kauai.
After twenty years of visiting the Garden Isle, she and her husband Larry
decided to make it their home. She is constantly inspired by her
surroundings, and greets each beautiful day with a brush in her hand,
grateful for the opportunity to be an artist. Her previous work includes
nineteen years in the technology industry, and several years as an interior
designer. She and her husband have three grown children.
